Role of Smart Technology & Quality Management in Project Development & Leadership

Description

Dramatic improvements in smart technologies such as virtual cloud computing and online interactive sensing in the Internet of Things (IoT) era solve typical intractable problems and offer sophisticated projects’ leadership experiences to the industrial sector in a more convenient way. Virtual resource allocation and data management in a project have attracted increased attention in recent times as they provide the most effective quality measurements in the product development process of a project. It efficiently visualizes the data from hundreds of computer networks simultaneously, enabling the project leader to estimate the most relevant and actionable response to the assumed virtual project circumstances. In addition, the use of advanced network technologies such as 5G/6G makes this process take place in a much faster way, with much more data flow facilities. In summary, the revolution of smart technologies in the digital era of computing is a cool upcoming trend, where the vast amount of individuals from the industrial project management society may unimaginably gain benefit. However, emphasizing the need for interactive and innovative smart technologies for smart projects and quality management also acquires greater importance as it forms the key requirement of the present-day projects’ leadership.

The quality of a project is believed to be the vital component that needs to be focused on by organizations to consistently achieve success through customer satisfaction. The purpose of this call for paper is to discuss the contribution of smart technologies and quality management in the development of a new project’s product making it successful among customers and clients, meeting their requirements, and overcoming the challenges. Quality management of a project enables usability and makes the final project product user-friendly and more economical. Organizations have a quality management team to ensure the project’s product is delivered error-free to the end-user to build the brand of the company. The major purpose of implementing a quality management team is to ensure that a project is developed according to the requirements and needs of a customer in a cost-efficient way. The connection between smart technologies and quality management, and new project development/leadership enhances participation while fostering a smooth and innovative process between the development and quality team ensuring safer, reliable, and useful products get to market on time.

While competition has been increasing in today’s business environment, there is a high demand for smart technology to assure the quality of the projects and this is where the process gets crucial. Quality management accommodates the work deadlines for the timely delivery of the project’s product which improves the level of customer satisfaction. The Quality Management System (QMS) integrated with smart technologies is considered to be the key factor in strengthening the competitive position, eliminating errors, enhancing shareholder and stakeholder value, promoting innovation, and allowing better cost management of new products which results in better understanding of the customer needs which in turn increases efficiency and reduces wastage. Though quality management seems to be successful among organizations, some problems need to be taken care of. Some of the major challenges would be implementing the quality practices in the entire organization which is a commitment to quality improvement, and this cannot be fulfilled without smart technologies. Quality team efforts in utilizing such technologies would give determined results. Any lack of resources or efforts would result in causing negative ripples throughout the product development process. Effective communication between the quality teams and the project leadership team ensures the quality and standard of the project’s product is achieved. QMS and smart technologies contribute to the major part in the new project development from start to end by measuring, monitoring, and documenting the whole process given all resources and tools efficiently. The final audit of the project is done to prove the quality of the project’s product which is the result of implementing the quality management system in the new project development. By understanding the customer requirements and needs earlier along with the quality management system in place the organization could save time, and money, and reduce risks leading to happy customers, and happy employers.
