Leveraging previous research and technological advancements, this study focuses on tidal range and tidal stream power plants, exploring their feasibility in the unique coastal geography of SSA. The paper highlights the significant tidal currents along the Atlantic coast, particularly in regions such as Equatorial Guinea, which present promising opportunities for tidal energy generation. By analyzing the environmental, economic, and technical challenges and the potential benefits of deploying tidal power plants, this research aims to provide a comprehensive framework for developing sustainable and reliable renewable energy sources in SSA. This study emphasizes the need for detailed resource assessments, innovative engineering solutions, and supportive policies to realize the full potential of tidal energy in the region.
